Naomy was born in 2007 in Wakula Village, Mfangano West location. She is the third born child in a family of four children.  Naomy’s father passed away from kidney disease in 2021. She and her siblings live with their mother who is a peasant farmer in addition to working other small in order to provide for her family. As hard as she tries, Naomy’s mother is not always able to meet their basic needs as well as pay for their educational expenses. Naomy has missed some of her classes when they didn’t have the money to pay for school fees and supplies and there have been times when they have only had enough for two meals a day.

Naomy’s siblings include Reagan Ochieng  and Brian Onyango who have both finished high school but have not gone onto any further education and Brigit Ann who is at Shalom Christian Center. Before joining GGCC, Naomy went to Shalom Christian Center also where she completed her grade 8 national exams.

Naomy joined GGCC in 2023 in grade 9 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. She and her mother are so grateful to God for the opportunity granted to her to continue with her studies. Naomy loves the school environment which is so conducive for learning. She loves her teachers and her fellow students who are so friendly.

At GGCC, Naomy will not miss classes again due to lack of school levies. This will help her to concentrate on her studies and work towards her goal of becoming a journalist. Her favorite subject is biology. During her leisure time, Naomy loves playing soccer. She is in good health.
