Mike was born on July 29, 2006 in Kaswanga village in Mfangano North location. He is the second born child in a family of six children. His father passed away leaving Mike and his siblings under the care of their mother. Mike’s mother does not have any type of regular employment. She works many odd jobs trying to provide for her family. However, it’s never enough and their family has struggled so much. They have often had to depend on relatives and neighbors just to put food on the table. Mike and his siblings have also missed a lot of school when they could not afford to pay the school fees. They missed classes often and have suffered the consequences of an interrupted education.

When Mike could attend school, he went to Ramba Primary School. He was able to successfully score 310 on his 8^th grade national exams. This qualified him to join GGCC, where his older brother Brian was already enrolled in the 11th grade. His younger brother Daniel and two sisters, Joy and Mitchelle, are learning at Ramba Primary School in grades 8, 4 and 1, respectively. The youngest of the siblings is not old enough to attend school yet.

Mike joined GGCC in August of 2021 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. His mother is so grateful to God and the management for offering Mike the opportunity to learn at GGCC. Mike reports that he likes the educational environment and access to materials in the library and laboratory. He also likes the spiritual teachings offered at GGCC.

While at GGCC, Mike will not miss classes again due to the lack of school levies and fees. This will help him to concentrate on his studies and work towards becoming an engineer. His best subject is mathematics. During his leisure time, Mike likes playing soccer and volleyball. He is in good health.
