Melvin is the oldest of four children in her family. She was born in 2011 in Kibuogi Island, Kaksingri West location. Both of her parents are alive. Her father is a fisherman, but does not have his own fishing gears or nets. He is never guaranteed any specific wage and this is difficult in providing for his family. Melvin’s mother is just a house wife. Melvin’s parents also face health challenges.

Melvin’s second born sibling, Davis, is in KG2. The third born, Geoffrey, is in KG1, while the fourth born, Naomi, is a baby and not old enough for school. Melvin and her siblings are sometimes unable to attend school due to lack of scholastic materials and levies, this ultimately has affected their academic performance.

Melvin joined GGCC in January of 2019 in KG3 as vulnerable child. She so excited to join GGCC and she anticipates doing well with a more consistent attendance. She likes the school environment which is conducive for learning. Her fellow pupils and teachers are friendly.

Melvin has the ambition of becoming a teacher in the future. She enjoys swimming and playing soccer.
