Maurine was born in 2006 and is the third born in a family of four children. Her mother passed away in 2009 and left her and her siblings under the care of her father who burns charcoal in order to provide for his family.

Maurine and her siblings have been struggling because they depend solely on their father to pay for their school fees, as well as to feed and provide for their other basic needs. At home, Maurine eats one or two meals a day depending on the season.

Maurine was enrolled in GGCC in 2014.

While at GGCC, Maurine sleep on a mattress in the dormitory where it is dry and adequate. She is happy to join GGCC where she can learn and eat well. She is looking forward to working hard and become a teacher when she grows up.

Maurine loves playing hide and seek and also football.
