Laventer's father died in 2003.  She has an older sister who is married and a brother and sister still at home.  Her father died before Laventer was born.

Life for Laventer and her siblings has not been easy.  Her mother works in other people's farms to earn a living for the family.  Sometimes her mother has no work which results in the family having only porridge for their daily meal, as well as no money for school fees.

Laventer enrolled in GGCC in January 2013.  Life at GGCC is good for Laventer where she eats and sleeps well.  She is an average student and her best subjects are English, Math and Kiswahili.  She loves playing soccer and volleyball.  Laventer would like to be a teacher.
