School Grade 12

Innocent was born in 2004 in Rongo, Homa-bay County. She is the fourth born child in a family of seven children. Innocent lives with her mother, Esther, who sells green groceries to provide for Innocent and her siblings.  Innocent’s father passed away after suffering from Anemia in 2018, a condition Innocent also suffers from. With only her mother working, Innocent and her siblings have struggled a lot. She missed school when her mother couldn’t pay her school fee. There have been times when she lacked the proper medication because of their limited resources.

Before joining GGCC, Innocent went to St. Peter’s Kisii Secondary School. She joined GGCC in grade 11 and now she will have access to medication if she needs it, consistent learning in school and 3 meals a day. She can concentrate on working hard as a student.  Innocent’s favorite hobbies are drawing, listening to gospel music and reading bible stories. Innocent would love to be a fashion designer and Anemia activist after finishing her education.
