Ian is the youngest of three children. His parents were strong believers in the Lord and served Him faithfully until their deaths in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Ian's aunt moved into their home to assume care of Ian and his siblings. She relied on help from relatives just to feed the children since her meager income as a small scale farmer is not enough to properly care for them. There is, however, hope for the Wachara family because Ian's elder brother qualified to join a local university using money that was collected at their father's funeral. He may also qualify for a government loan to continue with school and later help the children.

Since joining GGCC, Ian is now assured of three meals each day. He has improved both academically and healthwise. Ian is thankful to God for enabling him to join GGCC. One of his dreams is to be able to drive a car when he grows up!

Ian joined GGCC in January 2013.
