Felix O. 1586

Grade Male: 9th - 12th Gr.

School Grade 12

Felix was born on August 5th, 2006 in Takawiri Island of Mfangano East location. He is the second born child in a family of four children. Both of Felix’s parents are living, however, they both are HIV positive. His mother is a house wife, while his father is a fisherman. Although both parents are living, this family has still faced many struggles. Felix’s father does not own his own fishing equipment, so he works using other’s nets and gears. Unfortunately, fishing is not consistent and does not generate a large amount of income. Providing all three meals a day has been a challenge as well as paying for school. Felix and his siblings have missed quite a bit of school, which has affected their academic performance.

Felix has 3 siblings. Sheila Atieno lives at home. Brian Olima attends Takawiri Primary School in grade 6 and Mark Finley in grade KG3. Felix was learning in Takawiri Primary also before joining GGCC.

Felix was admitted to GGCC in August of 2021 in grade 9 as a vulnerable child. His parents are very grateful to GGCC for considering their son to join the school and he is so happy to be attending. Felix’s life will never be the same. He will no longer miss classes due to lack of school levies and other scholastic materials. He will get all the three meals and sleep comfortably on a bed. He loves the quality education offered at GGCC and the Christian way of life taught at GGCC.  He would like to work hard to become a teacher in the future.

During his leisure time, he likes playing soccer.
