Faith was born on September 10, 2006 in Soklo Village of Mfangano Island. She is the second born child in a family of four children. Her father passed away in 2009 and left Faith and her siblings under the care of their mother.  Her mother works as a peasant farmer, which is not a sustainable form of income. Farming is seasonal and very weather dependent. Unfortunately, this family has struggled mightily with meeting just the basic needs. There are times when the family is only able to eat porridge. Not only do they struggle with food, but also in paying for school fees. Faith and her siblings have missed quite a bit of school when their mother did not have the money to pay the school fees.

Faith was enrolled at Kagungu Primary School previously. She finished the 8^th grade there and scored high enough on her exams to qualify her to join the high school at GGCC. Her older sister, Sally, is already learning at GGCC in grade 11. Faith was granted admission to GGCC for grade 9 in August of 2021. She is happy to join her older sister. Her younger brother, Victor, is learning in Kagungu Primary School in grade 4, while the youngest, Evance, is also learning at Kagungu Primary School in grade 2.

While enrolled at GGCC, Faith will learn without interruption. She won’t have to worry about missing classes due to lack of school levies and not having the proper school materials or uniforms. She will be able to concentrate on her academics and work towards her goal of becoming an engineer. She will get all the three meals a day that she was lacking at home and she will have her own bed to sleep. Faith enjoys the spiritual aspect also. During her leisure time, she likes playing soccer and other athletic activities. She is in good health.
