Fabian was born in 2015 in Soklo village, Mfangano North location. He is the youngest in a family of four children and the only boy. After the death of Fabian’s father, his mother became the sole breadwinner. She is a peasant farmer. She has had a difficult time providing for the entire family. Like many other families, Fabian’s mother has had to choose which to pay for as there are always challenges with having enough money for food, school fees, uniforms and books. Often Fabian’s education was a last priority. He has missed school because of the payments and his academics have suffered.

Fabian’s elder sister, Susan, was able to complete her high school education in 2019, but has yet to pursue anything further. The second born, Judith is in grade 11 at Naivasha Girls High School, while third born, Sylvia, is learning at Kagungu Primary School and is in grade 8.

Fabian was learning at Kagungu Primary School with Sylvia, before being invited to join GGCC. He joined GGCC in January of 2020, as a vulnerable and orphaned child, where he was placed in the PP1 class. With this opportunity to learn without interruption, Fabian will be able to concentrate on his academics. He will not miss any more school. He will have the opportunity to be a kid and learn and play with those around him. He will also be assured of the proper nutrition with three meals a day.  Fabian likes to draw.
