Ephytreezer was born in 2005 in Sena village, Mfangano East location on Mfangano Island. She is the first-born child in a family of three children. Her father passed away leaving she and her siblings under the care of their mother. At the time, her mother did not have any formal working experience and has since become a peasant farmer in order to provide for her family. However, this does not generally produce enough income to meet all of their needs. At times, porridge was the only thing they had to eat. Paying for school fees usually becomes secondary when money is especially tight. Ephytreezer has missed quite a bit of school when there just wasn’t enough to pay for the fees or materials. In addition to the financial struggles this family faces, there are health challenges as well. 

Tyron Braham, Ephytreezer’ s younger brother is in grade 5, while her sister, Precious Valentine, is in PP1.

Before joining GGCC, Ephytreezer was learning at Misori Primary School. She completed the 8^th grade and scored a 291 on the grade 8 national exams.

Ephytreezer was admitted to GGCC in 2021 in grade 9 as orphaned and vulnerable child. She is so happy about joining the high school at GGCC. Ephytreezer’s will be able to attend school without the fear of missing classes and she will be guaranteed 3 meals a day. This will help her to concentrate on her academics and work towards her goals of becoming a nurse. During leisure time, Ephytreezer likes playing soccer, volley ball and other athletics. She is in good health.
