School Grade 6

Brenda was born in 2011 and is the one of five children in her family. She was born in Gulwe Village, on Mfangano West location. Both of her parents are alive but have health complications. Brenda’s father has 3 wives who each have their own children. Brenda’s father is a small scale farmer but is unable to provide even the basics of food for such a large family. There are 11 living children currently that he struggles to support. They often go without proper clothing, food, and materials. The children have missed a lot of school because they could not afford to send them.

With Brenda’s biological siblings, the oldest sibling died in infancy, while two of the others, Beatrice and Brian are attending Gulwe Primary School in grades 3 and 1, when they can afford to send them to school. Brenda’s youngest sibling, Nevin, is not old enough to attend school yet. He stays at home with his mother.

Before joining GGCC, Brenda was also learning at Gulwe Primary School in grade 3. She was invited to attend GGCC in grade 4 in 2022 as a vulnerable child.  Sh

She is so happy to join GGCC. Her parents are so thankful for this opportunity for Brenda to learn and have all the things she needs. She will have 3 meals and all of the scholastic materials she needs to learn. She wants to work hard to become a teacher one day and give back to her community.

During her leisure time, Brenda likes singing gospel songs. She gave her life to Christ when she joined GGCC.  Her best subjects are Kiswahili and English.
