Blessing was born in 2012 in Kakiimba village, Mfangano North location. She is the second born child in a family of two children. Her mother died and left Blessing and her brother under the care of their father who is the breadwinner. Blessing was very lonely after the death of her mother. Her father would stay away for days at a time, leaving Blessing with a grandparent. Her father has health challenges which impacts his ability to care for himself and for Blessing. He has remarried, but that wife has run away and it is unknown where she currently is.

Blessing has faced so much as a young child. She has gone without proper food, sometimes only taking porridge. She has missed the love of a mother. She has also missed school because of her family’s difficult situation.

Her older brother, John, attends Kakiimba Primary School in grade 6. Blessing was learning at Kakiimba Primary School with John, before joining GGCC in grade 1. She was admitted to GGCC in January of 2020 as an orphan and vulnerable child. She feels so happy to join GGCC and prays that God will help direct her path. Blessing likes the school environment, the teachers and her fellow pupils who are so friendly. She will be able to learn without interruption and will get the proper nutrition, rest and care that every child deserves. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up. During her leisure time, she likes playing netball with her peers. She is in good health.
